Opening Garden Renewals for returning gardeners

  • 1 Feb 2020
  • 29 Feb 2020

Welcome to the 2020 season at the Watertown Community Gardens! We are now ready to accept our membership renewals for returning gardeners for the upcoming season.

The WCG plot fee is the same as the previous year. The annual membership of $65 covers the costs of running the organization including insurance, software, and staff.

A donation made in conjunction with your annual Gardener Membership Dues also enables WCG to offer reduced garden plot fees to individuals and families in need. (Any "sponsor" monies left over will be treated as donations to the WCG general fund.)

Tips for successfully completing your online renewal:

--For security purposes, please use Google Chrome or Apple Safari browsers to complete your transaction.

--When clicking the link below, you will need to log in to your account. (If you don't remember your password, you can reset it).

--You will be prompted to make a payment using a credit card or Paypal account. Have a payment method ready so that you can go through all the steps at one time. Please activate your membership at one of the following levels:

  • $130 (covers the cost of your plot and sponsors another gardener in full)
  • $100 (covers the cost of your plot and defrays the cost for another gardener)
  • $65 (covers the cost of your plot)
  • $50 (partially covers the cost of your plot)

Renew Your WCG Membership

To make a general donation to our nonprofit organization, please visit the "Donate" page here.  Your support enables us to continue to maintain and build our garden plots for today and tomorrow.

Membership renewals for returning gardeners will remain open through February 29.

WCG now operates 3 community gardens in Watertown, Massachusetts:

-Grove Street Community Garden, located at 65 Grove Street on land generously leased to us by Mount Auburn Cemetery,

-Arsenal Park Community Garden at the Arsenal Park

-New for the 2020 season: Union Market Garden at Elan Union Market Apartments at 53 Irving Street.

The Grove Street Community Garden will run through the 2020 season, but may be phased out after this coming growing year. The Arsenal Park Community Garden is poised to grow in area for the 2021 season.

**If you are interested in changing plots or gardens, first, renew your membership and then, email watertowngardens@gmail.com with your name and reason for switching plots. This secures your plot through to the time when we will make adjustments after the February 29 deadline.**

Want to renew by check? Simply email watertowngardens@gmail.com with a message about your renewal and mail a check payable to Watertown Community Gardens to P.O. Box 1041, Watertown, MA 02472

Cost should never be a barrier to gardening, so contact us at watertowngardens@gmail.com if the Gardener Dues are out of reach for you this season.
