Volunteer on the W-C Greenway - Thursday Morning Crew

  • 23 Oct 2025
  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Holworthy Place (Cambridge) entrance to Watertown-Cambridge Greenway

Registration

Registration is closed

NOTE LATER START TIME OF 9 AM, due to the season change.

We'll focus this session on planting! Fall is a great time to plant, and we have a lot of seedlings we want to get into the ground. Native plants help to keep invasive plants from spreading, and support our native ecology. As weather and time allows, we'll:

  • Cut and pull mugwort on the narrow strip along the white fence behind 66 Homer Ave.

  • Plant Little Bluestem grass, mountain mint and echinacea seedlings

  • Plant and care for dogwood shrubs, weeding and adding rabbit cages.

Steady rain or downpours will cancel!

Details:

* Starting point is the benches at the Holworthy Place entrance in Cambridge.

* Please bring: drinking water, garden gloves, and clippers/pruners if you have them. Please wear long pants, long sleeves, and closed toe/sturdy footwear.

* We will provide trash bags, gardening gloves and other tools as needed for the day's activities.

* If you haven't yet signed a 2025 waiver, you will be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival.

* Any participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
