The weather still looks good for planting, so we're scheduling one more work day for the season!

We'll focus this session on clearing invasive plants from the last part of this area, and then sow some seeds, plant the last of our sun-loving seedlings and two young trees. Bring your energy (and spades, if you have one) for digging planting holes and watering new plants!

We will:

  • Pull and cut mugwort and spotted knapweed.
  • Plant blue vervain, boltonia, narrow leaf sunflowers and more.
  • Care for existing shrubs in this area, weeding and adding rabbit cages.

Register to get reminders and event updates (and help us ensure we have enough snacks!).

Details:

* Starting point is at the trail intersection with Arlington St., across from What Da Chick (This is *not* the usual meeting spot behind Target.)

* Please bring: drinking water, a hat, and garden gloves if you have them. Please wear long pants, socks, and closed toe/sturdy footwear. A kneeling pad or similar foam pad can be helpful. We also recommend long sleeves for protection against bugs and scratchy plants.

* We will provide trash bags, and extra gardening gloves and other tools.

* If you haven't yet signed a 2025 waiver, you will be asked to sign this waiver upon arrival. Any participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, or bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian in advance.
