----------------------------------------

Are you an experienced gardener? Know the difference between the common invasive plants and many native wildflowers? Come join us at this work session dedicated to careful weeding of the Pollinator Garden on the Watertown-Cambridge Greenway.

If we have time, we'll move on to cutting and digging out some of the invasive plants right around the Pollinator Garden, including mugwort, Japanese knotweed, buckthorn and black swallowwort.

Register to get reminders and event updates (and help us ensure we have enough snacks!).

Details:

* NOTE 9 AM START TIME! We're starting earlier now that summertime heat has arrived.

* Starting point is the Pollinator Garden on the Watertown-Cambridge Greenway, near where Wheeler Court ends at the Greenway, and roughly half-way between the bench behind the Watertown Mall and the trail intersection with Arlington St. and Nichols Ave.

* If you're driving, there's parking nearby behind the Watertown Mall or at the end of Arsenal Way.

* Please bring: drinking water, garden gloves, and clippers and weeding knife if you have them. A kneeling pad or similar foam pad can be helpful. We will provide trash bags, and extra gardening gloves and other tools.

* If you haven't yet signed a 2026 waiver, please review and sign the online waiver in advance (or bring the signed paper waiver with you).

* Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and added to the adult's waiver.
